SITF confirms this plant as Paphiopedilum godefroyae (Nov 2026). This plant is consistent with Paphiopedilum godefroyae: Dorsal sepal, petals, staminode and the leaves fit the species. The pouch has the spots of P. godefroyae, but the chestnut-brown overlay appears unique. In the RHS Annual Orchid Review 2026, pg 94, 95 that goes even further, everything is VERY dark and no spots. In orchidroots.com there are several dark forms of P. godefroyae, including one: Paph. godefroyae 'Blacky' HCC/OSSEA, JYeo which is similar to this plant.
