Finding
SITF has determined this plant to be a hybrid, not Paphiopedilum spicerianum (Apr 2026). This is most likely a hybrid involving a backcross to Paphiopedilum Bruno. The staminode is very close to P. spicerianum, but differs slightly from the species and the pouch shape is not correct for the species. In Bruno, the staminode may show variations, sometimes lacking the distinct yellow-green cross, or exhibit poorly formed curls at the top, which would indicate hybrid origin.
