The flower measurements fit the description and there is a matching photograph of J. arborescens in Cribb and Hermans' "Field Guide to the Orchids of Madagascar". Two stellate flowers and one bud on three inflorescences; presented on a 32-cm wide by 33-cm tall monopoldial plant growing in a 9.0-cm wide by 11.5-cm plastic pot in bark, spongerock mix; thirteen leaves 2.0-cm by 10.5-cm, on apical half of the stem, elliptic-oblong bilobed at apex, conduplicate (folded) at the base; flowers white, sepal and petals subulate; dorsal sepal reflexed, lateral sepals basally recurved and twisted; petals point downwards, basally twisted; lip acicular, spur 10.0-cm long, downward, chartreuse; column chartreuse, anther cap light brown; substance hard; texture matte. Awarded for its rarity in cultivation and well grown in warm conditions, species is a cool grower.
