Overview
Terrestrials or rarely epiphytes. Pseudobulbs cormose or absent. Leaves few, usually lanceolate. Inflorescences racemes, usually erect, long-scapose, densely-flowered, the floral bracts insignificant. Flowers cupped, often fragrant, white to yellow, usually marked with purple. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subsimilar, subequal. Lip three-lobed, the lateral lobes erect, the midlobe transverse, the callus fleshy, basal, erect. Column stout, lightly arching, +/- broadly winged at the apex, the clinandrium +/- hooded’ pollinia 4; sessile on a common viscidium.
Distribution
A genus of about 16 species from throughout South America.

Grow plants of K. graminea in small pots with a medium grade epiphyte mixture. All other species should be grown in large pots of a sandy terrestrial mixture. Provide bright light, intermediate temperatrues, and steady watering throughout the growing season.
