Overview
Trailing, mat-forming epiphytes or lithophytes. Pseudobulbs absent. Secondary stems short. Leaves one per secondary stem, leathery. Inflorescences basal, pedunculate, few-flowered racemes. Sepals and petals free, the petals narrower than the sepals. Lip unlobed, basally saccate, without a callus. Column erect, dilated, without a foot; pollinia 4, without stipe or viscidium.
Etymology
From the Greek hadros, meaning stout, and rhiza, meaning root, in reference to the thick worm-like roots.
Distribution
A monotypic genus from South India, Sri Lanka and the Andaman Islands.
