Overview
Miniature monopodial epiphytes. Stems short. Leaves alternate, distichous, linear-lanceolate, obliquely bilobed at the apex. Inflorescences axillary, pedunculate, few-flowered. Flowers ephemeral, produced in succession. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subsimilar, subequal. Lip three-lobed, +/- callus, with a short saccate spur. Column straight; pollinia 2, globose, on a common linear stipe and minute viscidium.
Etymology
Named to honor Adolph Biermann, Curator of the Calcutta Botanic Garden.
Distribution
A genus of seven species ranging from northeast India to Indonesia (Bali).
