Overview
Monopodial epiphytes. Stems short. Leaves alternate, distichous. Inflorescences axillary long-pedunculate racemes, the floral bracts insignificant. Flowers produced in sequential flushes. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subsimilar, subequal. Lip three-lobed, saccate. Column arching, without wings, with a short foot; pollinia 2, each partially cleft, on a common stipe and viscidium.
Etymology
From the Greek brachys, meaning short, and peza, meaning foot, referring to the short column foot found in the genus.
Distribution
A genus of seven species from Thailand to the Philippines and Christmas Island.

Grow plants of Brachypeza in pots or small baskets with a medium-grade epiphyte mixture. Provide warm temperatures, medium light levels, and steady watering throughout the year. Allow the roots to lightly dry out between waterings.
