Etymology
Honoring George Caley, a Superintendent of the Botanic Garden in St. Vincent and an early collector of plants in New South Wales, Australia.
Distribution
A genus of about eight species from Australia and New Zealand. They are commonly called Duck Orchids because of the flowers resemblance to ducks in flight.

Grow plants of Caleana in pots of sandy loam. Provide medium light levels and intermediate temperatures. Water regularly when in active growth. After flowering water should be reduced to a minimum until the onset of the next season’s new growth.
