Overview
Caespitose terrestrials arising from corms. Stems extremely short. Leaves plicate, solitary, basal, petiolate. Inflorescences terminal erect long-pedunculate racemes, the floral bracts inconspicuous. Flowers pendent, tubular. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subequal, subequal. Lip three-lobed, subsimilar to the sepals and petals, the callus small at the base of the midlobe. Column straight, elongate, subequal to the lip, +/- small apical wings, with a short foot; pollinia 4, in two compressed pairs sessile on a common large viscidium.
Etymology
From the Greek kremastra, meaning flower-stalk, referring to the conspicuous pedicellate ovary.
Distribution
A genus of two species from Nepal to Japan.
