Overview
Terrestrials arising from fleshy fasciculate roots. Leaves rosulate, petiolate. Inflorescences erect terminal pedunculate racemes. Flowers cupped at the base. Dorsal sepal and petals appressed, the lateral sepals free, spreading. Lip unlobed, clawed, auriculate. Column straight, without wings, with an elongate curved foot; pollinia 2, on a common minute viscidium.
Etymology
From the Greek kybebos, meaning stooping, referring to the strong right-angle bend at the base of the flowers.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Colombia.
