Overview
Miniature monopodial epiphytes. Leaves alternate, distichous, usually held in one plane. Inflorescences horizontal to laxly pendent, many-flowered racemes. Flowers ephemeral, opening in response to environmental stimulus, gregarious. Sepals and petals subsimilar, free. Lip obscurely three-lobed, articulated to column foot. Column short, stout, with a foot; pollinia four, unequal in two tightly appressed pairs, each pair borne on a separate caudicular stipe attached to a common viscidium.
Etymology
Honoring Danish Orchidologist Gunnar Seidenfaden.
Distribution
A genus of six species ranging from New Guinea to New Caledonia and Fiji.
