Overview
Rosulate terrestrials with fleshy fasciculate roots. Leaves basal, petiolate. Inflorescences erect, terminal, densely-flowered, spicate racemes, the floral bracts prominent. Flowers tubular, inconspicuous. Sepals and petals free or the sepals fused, subsimilar, subequal. Lip unlobed, clawed, +/- auriculate, subsaccate at the base. Column short, with a short foot, the rostellum short, triangular; pollinia 2, sessile on a common minute viscidium.

A genus of three species from Mesoamerica.

Grow Kionophyton in small pots of sandy terrestrial mixture. Provide full light and intermediate temperatures. Water frequently when in active growth, tapering off the watering as the inflorescence emerges and the plant begins to go dormant. Provide minimal water until the onset of new leaf growth.
