Overview
Caespitose lithophytes. Pseudobulbs ovoid, subtended by papery bracts. Leaves two or three, plicate, petiolate, elliptic-lanceolate. Inflorescences basal erect pedunculate racemes. Flowers bisexual. Sepals and petals free, spreading, the petals much narrower than other segments. Lip three-lobed, lying in one plane, minutely auriculate, the lateral lobes somewhat obscure, the epichile triangular. Column slender, arching, club-shaped at the apex, with small apical wings, without foot; pollinia 2, on a common stipe and viscidium.
Etymology
Named for German orchidologist Emil Lueckel.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Brazil previously included in Polycycnis.
