Overview
Monopodial epiphytes. Stems elongate, vining, often branching, rooting along its length. Leaves alternate, distichous. Inflorescences axillary, subsessile, congested racemes. Flowers intricate, rigidly fleshy. Sepals and petals subsimilar, free, spreading. Lip three-lobed, with variously developed internal ornamentation including a transverse frontwall callus, a larger backwall callus, and a longitudinal partition within the sac. Column short, stout, with linear-filiform stylidia lateral to the anther; pollinia 4 in two unequal pairs, the viscidium complex, transverse, +/- rectangular.
Distribution
A genus of six species from Nepal to Sumatra.

Pelatantherias may be grown in pots but their scrambling viny habit is best managed in a basket, with or without any potting material. Provide bright diffuse light, warm temperatures, and steady watering throughout the year.
