Etymology
From the Greek rhynchos, meaning snout, and steleos, meaning stalk, referring most likely to the elongated rostellum.
Distribution
A genus of 14 species from Mesoamerica to Venezuela. Formerly included in a broadly defined Odontoglossum, Halbinger removed these plants to the new genus Cymbiglossum which for nomenclatural reasons was changed to Lemboglossum. Following these transfers

Grow miniature species of Rhynchostele on slabs with a small pad of moisture-retaining material at the roots. Grow larger-statured species in shallow pots of medium-grade epiphyte mixture.
