Etymology
From the Latin spicula, probably meaning a ground-pine of the genus Lycopodium, perhaps alluding to the short, spike-like inflorescences.

Grow plants of Spiculaea in small pots of sandy loam. Provide full light, warm temperatures, and regular (heavy) watering during active growth. After the initiation of the inflorescence reduce watering and allow to go into total dormancy without additional water until the onset of new growth.
