Overview
Terrestrials with erect, branched, fractiflex (zig-zag) stems arising from a branched, erect, subterranean rhizome. Leaves linear-lanceolate, acute-acuminate, diminishing in size towards the stem apices. Inflorescences solitary, with the flowers from the upper leaf axils. Flowers ephemeral. Sepals and petals free, spreading. Lip three-lobed. Column with a pair of fleshy appendages below the stigma; pollinia 8.

A genus of two species native to South America.

This genus has rarely if ever been cultivated. Xerorchis should respond to a terrestrial medium, intermediate to warm temperatures, and low light levels. Care should be taken to keep the plants evenly moist without severe drying.
