Luisia-cordatilabia-Irene-CBR-(Provl)-2023-04-15 *SITF confirms this plant as Luisia cordatilabia (Jun 2023).

This is correct based on flower size and cordate shaped midlobe, as described in Cootes' "The Orchids of the Philippines" with an excellent match to the photo. The species is also described in the Quisumbing's 1981 "Philippine Orchids, Vol 1 and 2" in Latin and English; there is also a painting of L. cordatilabia that closely resembles this plant.

Luisia-psyche-2023-02-18 *SITF confirms that this plant is Luisia psyche (Aug 2023).

Identification is based on the sepal and petal shape of the flower, the shape of the lip and a minute bi-lobed apex with a tiny tooth in the middle. This flower is described as having an "unpleasant, cheesy odor" and the description in the IOSPE notes L. psyche has 1-2 fowl smelling flowers held close to the leaf axis. This plant matches the photo by O'Byrne in the IOSPE and other supporting photos can be found in the OW and the orchidroots.com.

Luisia-trichorrhiza-2022-08-21 *SITF confirms this plant is Luisia trichorhiza, not Luisia trichorrhiza (Mar 2023).

Kew's Plants of the World On-line (POWO) accepts the spelling of this species as Luisia trichorhiza; most reference sources spell the species as L. trichorrhiza; this plant matches the description and keys to Luisia trichorhiza in King & Pantling's 1898, "The Orchids of the Sikkim-Himalayas"; matches the form in most available photos (OW, IOSPE, orchidroots, etc.), but appears to be variable in color.
