Awarded As: Cattleya trianae 'For the Living' AM/AOS (Challenged)

Award has been challenged by an accredited judge that this is possibly not a C. trianae, but a hybrid, it was Illustrated on page 622 of the AOS "Orchids" for August 2021. This flower may have a bifoliate in its background. The conformity of the flower appears bifoliate, not labiate and may be a Granier hybrid.





Description: "Five flowers on two staked inflorescences; sepals lavender; petals lightly ruffled, lavender; lip ruffled, lavender, overlaid yellow centrally, purple distally, throat striped lavender; column white, blushed lavender, anther cap white; substance good; texture crystalline. Five flowers and no buds on two infl.

The plant is definitely unifoliate and grown from flask along with many other seedlings consistent with trianae shape and growth habit. 'Cashens'FCC/AOS x 'Canaima's Lottery', cross from Michael Sinn. The color of the photograph is the problem here - not an accurate representation.
