satyrium-coriifolum-2023-12-26

Satyrium-coriifolium-2023-12-26 *SITF has determined this plant to be Satyrium erectum, not Satyrium coriifolium (Jan 2024).

Satyrium coriifolium is a much larger plant with orange to red-orange flowers. The flower color and size of this plant agrees better with Satyrium erectum, which is blooming without the paired, basal leaves. This may be due to senescence or aging of the leaves. There are supporting images of S. erectum and contrasting images of S. coriifolium in the OW and orchidroots.com.

Judging Center: Pacific South - San Marino

Award Number: 20235897

Award Date: April 08, 2023

Awarded As: Satyrium coriifolum

I have included PDF versions of the paperwork with the images. I think that this might be Satyrium erectum based upon my independent research.

Species misspelled; should be Satyrium coriifolium (SITF).
